Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, why, and what I do with it. In short: I only collect what I need to reply to you, I don’t sell it, and I don’t add you to a mailing list.
Who I am
This website is run by Sarah Cromwell, trading as You Look Mint, a sole trader based in Manchester, UK. I’m the “controller” of your personal information, which means I decide how it’s used and I’m responsible for looking after it.

What I collect and why
When you fill in the contact form
The form asks for your name, email address, business name, website or social handle (optional), where you’re located, which service you’re interested in, when you need it by, a description of your project and how you heard about me.
I use this only to reply to your enquiry and work out whether we’re a good fit. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me, and taking steps you’ve asked for before we enter into a contract.
When you email me
If you email me directly, I’ll have your email address and anything you include in your message. I use it to reply to you, on the same basis as above.
When you visit the website
Like every website, mine needs some technical information to work, such as your IP address and the type of browser you’re using. See “Who else handles your information” below for the services involved.
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular and how quickly they load. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store your IP address and doesn’t follow you across other websites, so it can’t tell me who you are. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so I can improve it.
If you agree to analytics cookies, I use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they find the site. This only happens if you click “Yes” on the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time. The legal basis is your consent. See the Cookie Policy for details.
Who else handles your information
I use a small number of trusted services to run this website. They only use your information to provide their service to me.
- Web3Forms processes contact form submissions and passes them on to my email inbox. Submissions are stored by Web3Forms only temporarily.
- Cloudflare hosts the website. It processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it against attacks, and provides the cookie-free visitor counts described above.
- Adobe Fonts supplies most of the typefaces on the site. Your browser connects to Adobe's servers to load them, which means Adobe receives your IP address.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- My email provider, where your enquiry ends up.
Some of these services are based outside the UK, mainly in the USA. Where your information is transferred abroad, it’s protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
I never sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.
How long I keep it
If we don’t end up working together, I delete your enquiry once I no longer need it, and within 12 months at the latest. If you become a client, how I handle your information is set out in our contract, and some records (like invoices) have to be kept for six years for tax purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask me to delete your information
- object to, or ask me to limit, how I use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on it

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I use your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
